Accrington keep hold of keeper

Accrington have activated a clause in goalkeeper Kenny Arthur's contract that will keep him at the club until the end of next season. The former Partick Thisle shot-stopper's contract was up in the summer but due to him playing in the majority of Stanley's games this season the club have excercised their option to extend his stay. Arthur has become a firm fans' favourite since his arrival in 2007 from the Jags where he had a successful spell winning both the Scottish Football League Division One and Two titles. "Kenny had a clause in his contract that after 20 games we had the option of a second year so we have now activated that option," chief executive Robert Heys said. "He is a great lad and has settled into the side really well. He's enjoying his football with us and we are very happy to have him here for at least another season."
