Mystery club have offer for striker turned down

Peterborough boss Darren Ferguson has revealed the club have turned down an offer from an unnamed club for Paul Taylor. The 24-year-old is on the transfer list at London Road after failing to agree terms on a new contract in April. But Ferguson has stressed that they will not allow Taylor to depart on the cheap. "We've had a bid for Paul, but nowhere near what we require," said Ferguson. "It's not near our valuation so we'll wait and see what happens."

Kearns fury

Meanwhile, Ferguson is furious with the challenge that left Danny Kearns badly injured during the friendly against Aston Villa. The midfielder could be sidelined for a considerable amount of time after he was caught by a late challenge during Posh's 2-0 defeat on Wednesday night Ferguson was unhappy with the challenge that the club fear has left the 20-year-old with damaged ankle and knee ligaments. "Their player has done him like a kipper," Ferguson told the club's official website. "It was a horrible tackle and it looks like a bad injury. "Danny was holding his ankle and then his knee and he left the pitch in a bad way, but we will see how he is."
