Midfielder waiting to learn if he is still wanted by Parkinson

Bradford City's experienced midfielder Lee Bullock hopes he has done enough to earn a new contract at the club after an injury-hit campaign. The 30-year-old's current deal at Valley Parade is set to expire this summer and he was sidelined for four months with a thigh injury. However, Bullock, who has been with the League Two outfit for four-and-a-half years, says he is keen to help the club build on a transitional season under Phil Parkinson. "I've been here four-and-a-half years now and I'd love to stay longer, but nothing has been said to anyone yet and we'll probably find out in the next few weeks." Bullock told Sky Sports.

Support

"Hopefully, it will be good news, but if not I'll just have to be off looking for something elsewhere like quite a few lads will be this summer. "We seem to say it every year, but there will come a time when this club does go and fulfil the promise it has and I'd love to be here when that does happen. "The support we get now is great, but if we could bring some success to the table then it would be phenomenal and a fantastic place to play. "It is the same every year, with many players looking to find new clubs and it is an awkward situation for any footballer to find themselves in, but if it does happen you've just got to get on with it and see if anybody else wants you. "If not, then you have to look at starting a new chapter in your life, so it is a tricky time of year for many professionals. "The first half of the season was a write-off because of the injury, but I had a good spell, after returning to action, in midfield and really enjoyed it. "However, after all the red cards against Crawley I was dropped back into defence and then I was back on the bench, so it wasn't the best end to a season. "I've enjoyed my football when selected though and I'm feeling back to my best now, so hopefully I'll get another contract here and be able to stay."
