Skysports.com understands a host of Championship sides are chasing Colchester goalkeeper Ben Williams.
Williams' contract expires next summer and as yet no new deal has been agreed between both parties.
The news has alerted a number of clubs to Williams' possible availability with suitors of the 27-year-old keeping tabs on his situation at the Weston Homes Community Stadium
The former Manchester United and Crewe shot-stopper joined The Us from Carlisle in the summer of 2009 making 45 appearances for the club in his debut season and claiming the player of the year award in the same year.
Williams scooped the club's top honours again last term and he has established himself as one of the best goalkeepers outside the top two leagues.
