Former Rotherham defender happy to be invited for Bradford trial

Former Rotherham defender Jamie Green is hoping to earn a contract at Bradford City after joining on trial. The 21-year-old was released by his hometown club at the end of last season, having made 76 appearances during his six-year stay. The full-back, who can also operate as a winger, has joined the Bantams for pre-season training and told skysports.com that he would love to impress manager Peter Jackson and get the chance to join up permanently. "I've been here since Monday and although it has been tough I am really enjoying it here. "They've got a great set of lads at the club and to be fair it is a big club, so it ticks all the right boxes. "I really like it so far and if the gaffer was impressed with me and offered me a contract I would definitely consider signing it, but obviously that hasn't been on the table yet.

Great experience

"I'm just going to work as hard as I can and see what happens, but the club has definitely met my expectations since I joined. "I've played at Valley Parade a few times before, in front of around 15,000 people, and it is a great experience. "It must be great for the lads here to play there every other week and I'd love to get the chance to play in that arena on a regular basis. "There is no timeframe on it, but hopefully they will let me know what their plans are sooner rather than later. "My main aim is just to get fit and sharp for the new season, whether it be here at Bradford or somewhere else, but I would definitely prefer to stay here if possible"
