Irishman to remain at County Ground

Leeds defender Alan Sheehan has extended his loan spell at Swindon Town until the end of the season. The 21-year-old left-back will stay at the County Ground for the entirety of the League One campaign, including the play-offs should Swindon reach them. Sheehan, who had a spell on loan at Oldham earlier this season, has made seven appearances for the Robins so far and manager Danny Wilson was pleased with the move. "You saw the quality the lad possesses on Saturday against Fulham and he seems to play better against the bigger teams," he told the club's official website. "That's generally the sign of a quality player and we're delighted to have him back here. "It gives us that little bit more strength and competition at left-back with Lecsy (Jean-Francois Lescinel) and Callum Kennedy which is great from our point of view." Sheehan remains available for Swindon for the league clash against promotion rivals MK Dons on Saturday.
