Bradford City boss Colin Todd has continued his overhaul at Valley Parade, with Bobby Petta the highest profile player on the unwanted list.The 31-year-old former Ipswich Town, Celtic and Fulham winger still has a year left on his contract, but has been a disappointment to Todd with just four goals from 31 games this season.
"I spoke to him about how the season had panned out for him," the manager told the Bradford Telegraph & Argus.
"I was disappointed with his overall play at the club and I've told him it's best that I make a decision now.
"He will look for another club and hopefully he'll get that before we come back for pre-season," he said.
The Bantams have also told back-up goalkeeper Russell Howarth he may leave in the summer, if he can find a club.
Lewis Emanuel, meanwhile, has been offered a new contract, while the club seem to be investing in youth for next season.
Youngsters John Swift, Craig Bentham, Tom Penford and Michael Symes have all been kept on, and right back Swift believes this is the right policy to pursue.
"They are realising that the young players of Bradford City are the future," Swift stated.
"I would think the younger ones are getting paid less money than the older ones and the club may, in the future, get some cash back for some of the youngsters.
"I think we've proved this year that we can be relied upon and we are good quality."
