Dani opts for Cherries stay

Dani Rodrigues has turned down a move to Portugal to remain with Bournemouth.

Dani Rodrigues has turned down a move to his native Portugal to remain with Bournemouth.

The 25-year-old has shunned Portuguese Super Liga outfit Vitoria Guimaraes in order to stay with The Cherries.

"It was a bit difficult because I had an offer from Guimaraes to come back to Portugal. It was very tempting," said Rodrigues.

"My agent was talking to them but there were a few delays with them coming up with a concrete offer.

"I had a deadline to decide from Bournemouth as well, so I made my mind up to stay for another season in England. I'm happy with my decision and I'm already looking forward to getting back for pre-season."
