Brighton have signed Spanish striker David Rodriguez on a deal until the summer.
Rodriguez cancelled his contract at Celta Vigo on Thursday after making just one Primera Liga appearance this season.
And Albion have brought in the 27-year-old as an extra striking option as they aim to bridge a four-point gap to the Championship's play-off positions.
Manager Oscar Garcia told the club website: "He's shown throughout his career he is capable of scoring goals. He can play in all attacking positions.
"The challenge for him now is to push for a place in the team and prove between now and the end of the season he is worth a longer-term deal with the club."
Rodriguez, who has also played for Almeria and Sporting Gijon, has scored 38 goals in 112 career appearances.
