Brighton & Hove Albion manager Gus Poyet insists Gordon Greer is not for sale after Barnsley made a bid for the club's captain.

Barnsley reportedly have bid for Brighton captain rejected

Brighton & Hove Albion manager Gus Poyet insists Gordon Greer is not for sale after Barnsley made a bid for the club's captain. Greer joined Brighton on a three-year contract from Swindon Town in 2010 and he has made over 80 appearances for the club. His only goal for the Seagulls came against Barnsley last November and he has reportedly been the subject of an offer under £100,000 from the Tykes. However, Poyet has dismissed the bid and has no plans to part with Greer unless an 'incredible' offer is received for the 31-year-old. "We are not surprised by anything but it is not an issue, it's not our problem because he is not for sale," Poyet told The Argus. "We can't even talk about it until something massive comes in for someone, something that is incredible and we cannot reject. "But he is the captain of the football club so it would take something incredible for us to consider."
