Gus Poyet believes there is a good chance of Brighton keeping on-loan winger Gai Assulin for the duration of the Championship run-in.

Winger's loan spell set to expire but good chance he will stay

Gus Poyet believes there is a good chance of Brighton keeping on-loan winger Gai Assulin for the duration of the Championship promotion run-in. Assulin joined the Seagulls from Manchester City in February on an initial month-long deal with the option of an extension. The initial agreement will come to an end after Saturday's trip to Blackpool, but Poyet wants the 20-year-old to extend his stay for the rest of the season. Poyet told The Argus: "I think we've got a great chance to keep him but everybody needs to be happy, the player, Man City and us, so we'll see. We will sort it out this week. "It's up to him. He knows where he stands, what he can achieve and the options. "I already had a chat with him last week and we'll have another chat in the next couple of days."
