Brighton manager Gus Poyet believes clubs that go into administration should be dealt with more severely and be automatically relegated.
Poyet is currently preparing his Brighton side for a Championship fixture on Saturday against Portsmouth, who recently went into administration for the second time in as many years and have been docked 10 points.
That deduction dropped Pompey down into the bottom three but they are still in with a chance of avoiding the drop, even if their greatest battle lies away from the pitch.
Poyet has sympathy for the Championship strugglers, but maintains his belief that any club which enters administration should be forced to move down a division.
"I've got a clear view of that and I'm not talking about Portsmouth exclusively," Poyet told
The Argus.

"I would be more severe with any club, because it is people that right or wrong are cheating the competition.
"They try to spend what they don't have to see if they can get up and if they don't they go into administration.
"It shouldn't be like that. For me categorically I would like the teams that get into that down, not 10 points, down.
"Then we will see how the teams are going to react and who is going to take responsibility.
"That is the other point. Somebody needs to be responsible."
