Hammers, Saints and Bluebirds all look to return to winning ways

Championship leaders West Ham will be hoping to bounce back to winning ways along with high-flying Southampton and Cardiff. West Ham suffered a heavy 5-1 defeat by Ipswich on Tuesday and manager Sam Allardyce will be hoping for home comforts in what is sure to be a fierce London derby against rivals Millwall in the early kick-off. Southampton missed the chance to move top after being held at home to Cardiff in midweek and now Nigel Adkins' troops tackle in-form Birmingham City at St Andrew's. Blues claimed an impressive 4-1 win at Leeds on Tuesday. Cardiff City also have a tricky encounter in the offing as they take on Blackpool on home soil. The Bluebirds are unbeaten in six in league action while the Seasiders have won three of four, including a late midweek win over Coventry. Middlesbrough drew 2-2 with Leicester on Wednesday, although the North East side are winless in five. Tony Mowbray's troops take on Carling Cup semi-finalists Crystal Palace at the Riverside. Hull City remain in the top six despite being held to a goalless draw by Doncaster City. The Tigers have a lengthy trip to Portsmouth on Saturday. Pompey have won two of their last four league games. Inconsistent Reading sit just outside the play-off places and they take on third-from-bottom Doncaster Rovers this weekend. The Royals beat Bristol City last weekend. Burnley are a side on the up and Tuesday's 2-0 win at Nottingham Forest means Eddie Howe's men are ninth in the standings. The Clarets tackle a Peterborough side who have lost three straight in the Championship. Neil Redfearn is in caretaker charge of Leeds United following Simon Grayson's sacking in the wake of their heavy defeat by Blues. The Whites travel to Bristol City, who are much improved under Derek McInnes. Brighton will be hoping to extend their four-match unbeaten run when Leicester City play at the AMEX Stadium. Gus Poyet's Seagulls are in excellent form, although the Foxes have been beaten only once in six outings. Sunday's game sees two Midlands rivals go head-to-head as Derby County host Nottingham Forest. Steve Cotterill's Forest are five points adrift of safety and the Rams would love to put another nail in their relegation coffin. Only Coventry are below Forest in the table and Andy Thorn will be cursing the timing of their meeting with Ipswich, who arrive on the back of an impressive win over the Hammers in midweek. Watford ended their three-match losing streak at Millwall in midweek and Sean Dyche will not be underestimating a Barnsley side who got the better of Derby on Tuesday when the two meet at Vicarage Road.
