Keeper saves penalty on debut

Brighton & Hove Albion have signed Slovakian goalkeeper Peter Brezovan on a short-term contract until January. Brezovan had spent the past week training with the Seagulls and the former Swindon keeper showed enough to earn a deal. He was handed an immediate debut in Saturday's 1-0 win at Exeter City and proved his worth by saving a second-half penalty from Marcus Stewart. Seagulls boss Gus Poyet, who worked with Brezovan at Swindon, praised the keeper's display in the last-gasp win at St James Park. "Peter Brezovan gave us something extra out there, especially in saving the penalty because that was probably the turning point of the game," Poyet told the club's official website. "I have a clear view of Peter and you have got to give him respect. "He hasn't played a professional football game this season and after a week's training with us he came here and put in a blinding performance."
