Shrewsbury Town have completed the signing Jake Robinson.

Striker joins Town

Shrewsbury Town have completed the signing Jake Robinson. The 22-year-old striker was available on a free transfer from his hometown club Brighton. Now The Shrews have won the battle for his signature after securing him on a two-year deal. "I'm delighted that we've been able to get Jake Robinson to sign for the club," said Town boss Paul Simpson. "He's a player who I have liked for a number of years and kept an eye on how he's been developing. "He's a young lad who got into the Brighton side at a very young age, played a number of games for them and did very well. "He was always thought of as a bright young player but just seemed to lose his way a little bit and fell out of favour.

Eye for goal

"He's a forward player with good movement, got an eye for the goal and is still only 22 years of age. "He has things that he needs to improve on but he's still a young player and if there was nothing that he needed to learn then he wouldn't be playing at this level. "I'm looking forward to getting to work with him and getting him up the fitness levels that I want all the players to be at and we will look forward to him getting some goals for us. "Jake isn't a target man he is a player who likes to drop off the main striker and pick things up to feet. "He finds himself dropping into little holes where he can create that bit of space, he's got good movement and is the type of player who will show and then spin away and get in behind."
