ANOTHER NEW ARRIVAL AT EXETER

BRIGHTON left back Jamie Campbell has become the eleventh player to arrive at Exeter in the last week, as Noel Blake continues his close season rebuild at St James' Park.

27-year-old Campbell initially made an impression on Blake (pictured) when he scored twice for Barnet in a first round Coca-Cola cup clash against The Grecians four seasons ago, and the City boss has now followed up that interest by completing a permanent deal for the defender.

The former Luton, Barnet and Cambridge United player started his career as a striker, but has since made the conversion to full back and, standing at over six-foot, will provide Blake with the height that he has been lacking in that position.

"That's something that I've looked at," confirmed Blake. "And with Jon Ashton as well as Rico (Jon Richardson) we have that now at full back, although Rico isn't a natural full back.

"Jamie is a natural left-footer who can play in a number of positions. He is one I've been trying to get for a number of months and I'm delighted to have signed him."

Campbell made an impressive start to the season with The Seagulls last term, but having lost his place through suspension, after being sent off against Swansea just before Christmas, and with the emergence of Kerry Mayo at the seaside club, he was released by manager Micky Adams at the end of the campaign.
