Scunthorpe goalkeeper Joe Murphy has earned an extended stay with the Iron after their Championship status was confirmed this week.
Nigel Adkins' side will be playing in the second tier of English football once more next term following their 2-2 home draw with Reading on Tuesday.
Achieving safety means Murphy will be at the club again next term after the 28-year-old penned a new one-year contract at Glanford Park last summer with a 12-month option to extend his deal should the Iron avoid relegation.
The extended stay is a just reward for the Republic of Ireland international who has played a pivotal part in the club's survival this season, appearing 39 times in the league.
In four seasons with the club since signing from West Brom in 2006, Murphy has made 194 appearances in all competitions, including helping the club win the League One title in 2007 and also gain promotion to the Championship once again two years later via the play-offs.
