Huddersfield manager Andy Ritchie believes his crop of young players will turn heads in League One next season.During the close-season, Ritchie has secured three permanent signings in the guise of Malvin Kamara, Danny Cadamarteri and Frank Sinclair, who finished last season on loan at the club from Burnley.
Speaking exclusively to skysports.com, Ritchie has told the club's supporters that this season should see the continued emergence of some of the division's hottest young properties.
"We've landed a couple of key signings, and with the experience of guys like Frank Sinclair now in the squad, I feel we have the basis on which to really empower some of the young guys at this football club," he said.
"Gerry Murphy has worked wonders with the academy, and we have promoted five lads this summer into the first-team squad. Any one of those only has to look at the progress of players like Joe Skarz, David Mirfin, and brothers Nathan and Tom Clarke, to know what they can achieve."
Ritchie believes Skarz is set for a big season at the Galpharm Stadium.
The 17-year-old left-back made 15 League One starts for the club last term and has attracted the attention of Premiership scouts.
"Joe is flying in his development, and we've made a conscious decision not to bring in anyone else in his position," he said.
"If he struggles at times we can look at a potential loan signing but the club feel that given the chance to prove himself he will flourish.
"Keeping hold of strikers Luke Beckett and Gary Taylor-Fletcher is obviously key to us as well, and seeing as it looks as though we will do that, there is a real buzz around the place that the forthcoming season will hold some real rewards, with a team which the supporters can be proud of."
