Rochdale have extended the loan of Tom Newey from Grimsby Town for the rest of the play-offs.

Full-back available for remainder of play-offs

Rochdale have extended the loan of Tom Newey from Grimsby Town for the rest of the League Two play-offs. Newey joined Dale in late March after being told he did not feature in the long-term plans of Grimsby manager Mike Newell. He has made one start and one substitute's appearance since linking up with Dale, although he was not involved in Thursday's clash with Gillingham. The first leg of the play-off semi-final finished 0-0, with Newey now available for the return on Sunday and the final later this month should Dale reach Wembley. The 26-year-old has spent four years with Grimsby, but will be on the look-out for a new permanent club in the summer.
