Cobblers trio take loans

Northampton Town have allowed three players to join Hornchurch on loan.

Northampton Town boss Colin Calderwood has allowed three players to join cash-strapped non-leaguers Hornchurch.

Defender Chris Carruthers (pictured) and midfielder David Hicks have moved to the Conference South club on a month's loan while Cobblers youth trainee Greg Ngoyi has joined the Essex-based club on a 'work experience basis.'

With Hornchurch struggling to field a team at present, Calderwood has decided that Carruthers and Hicks could benefit from getting more first team action with their loan move with The Urchins.

"We only have one reserve game in the next month, but Hornchurch have six matches, including a top of the table clash," Calderwood told the club's official website.

"It's a good standard of football played in front of decent crowds and it will do the boys good to play first team football."
