Midfielder agrees two-year contract

Port Vale have completed the signing of young midfielder David Howland on a two-year contract. Howland had been on loan at Vale Park from Birmingham City since January and had impressed manager Lee Sinnott. The Northern Ireland Under 21 international recently admitted his delight at being offered a permanent deal following Vale's relegation to League Two. Terms have now been agreed and Sinnott is confident Howland can make an impact at Vale Park next season. "We are delighted to secure his services, after spending six months with us we know a lot about him and he knows where we want to go," Sinnott told the club's official website. "Theoretically it is a new signing, but with the added advantage that both parties know each other. "What is an advantage is that David knows the way we want to play and he is more than capable of playing that way."
