Aborah keen on English switch

Skysports.com understands Gillingham have taken former Ajax star Stanley Aborah on trial. Aborah is a free agent and he is believed to be keen on finding himself a new club in England. The 23-year-old started his career at Anderlecht before joining Ajax in 2004 and he made his debut for the club in the Champions League. Aborah was linked with a move to England a few years ago with Middlesbrough and Crystal Palace both keen on signing him only for injury to block any move for the Ghanaian-born star. The attacking midfielder is thought to be a target for Belgian side AFC Gent, but Aborah is holding out for a move to England. Aborah is now set to link up with Gillingham for pre-season training so that Andy Hessenthaler can cast an eye over him and if he impresses he could win a move to the Priestfield. The player's agent, Steve Davies, has confirmed Aborah is keen on a move to England and he will start training with Gillingham next week. "Stanley is a free agent and he is hoping to win a move to England," Davies told skysports.com. "He has been invited to train with Gillingham and he will start pre-season with them next season. "Stanley is a top player having played for Ajax in the Champions League and I believe he would be a major success in England. "He has an offer from Gent in Belgium, but his priority is to play in England."
