QPR rookie Antonio German has signed a new deal that will keep him at the club until summer 2012.

Young striker agrees to stay at Loftus Road

Queens Park Rangers rookie Antonio German has signed a new deal that will keep him at the club until summer 2012. The 18-year-old, who scored the opener on his full debut in the club's 2-1 win over Doncaster last Saturday, is seen as a promising prospect, with Rangers quick to tie him down to a new deal at Loftus Road. The striker was out of contract in the summer and was only too happy to agree terms. "I was out of contract at the end of the season, so I'm just happy to get it all done so that now I can concentrate on my football," German told the clubs official website. "It gives me a big lift because it shows that the club are keen to keep me here, which is good. "My target for the rest of the season is to start more games and score a few goals. "I've got my chance and I've got to take it now. The hard part is not getting into the team, it's staying there."

Hungry

Rs boss Mick Harford was also delighted to see the youngster, who joined the club at the age of 14, commit his future to the club. "It's great to tie Antonio down to a long-term contract. He's one for the future," said Harford. "Antonio's broken into the first team and done very well. He looks hungry around the training ground, hungry on the pitch and when he trains, he's got a fantastic attitude. "He's come in and been a break of fresh air. Hopefully it's the start of a long and successful career for him. The hard work starts here."
