Palace defender takes boss' comments on board
Crystal Palace defender Matt Lawrence has taken manager Neil Warnock's criticism of him with a pinch of salt.
Warnock has, on occasion, been publicly negative of Lawrence's performances this season, with the Eagles currently 18th in the Championship.
But 34-year-old Lawrence has insisted the words have not, and will not, affect his displays.
He said: "The manager can say what he likes because he is my boss. People have said things about me before and managers have got rid of me - but at my age it's not going to affect me on the pitch.
"The manager is entitled to his opinion and I will take what he says on board and I'm strong enough to take criticism.
"I'm a professional footballer and whatever is said isn't personal."
Palace are next in action on Saturday against Barnsley, in a game that can be seen live on Sky Sports 1 and HD1.
