Southend midfielder Anthony Grant is expected to be out of action for up to two months with an ankle injury.
The 22-year-old sustained the problem during Saturday's 2-2 draw with Swindon.
Following an MRI scan it has been confirmed that he has damaged his ligaments.
Grant has been a regular in the Shrimpers' midfield this season, but he will now see a specialist later this week to further assess the injury.
