Gradi wants defender to play more games

Crewe Alexandra boss Dario Gradi is planning to send defender Patrick Ada out on loan when the transfer window reopens. Ada joined the Railwaymen on a two-year contract from Histon back in the summer and has made 16 appearances for the club. However, he has not featured since the FA Cup first-round defeat at York City in early November and is now the fourth-choice centre-half at Gresty Road. He was on the bench for Monday's 4-1 defeat at Macclesfield Town, but Gradi confirmed Ada is some way down the pecking order. "Patrick is not in my plans at the moment and we will make him available for loan so he can play some games," Gradi told the club's official website. "I am not looking to offload him because he has many good attributes. "He has come up from non-league and needs a bit of work, so he knows that is fourth choice at the moment."
