Experienced forward set for Championship chance

Skysports.com understands Swansea City are set to pounce for MK Dons striker Jermaine Easter on loan with a view to a permanent transfer. The 28-year-old Wales international moved to the Stadium:MK last summer while Paul Ince was in charge of the League One outfit, but he has been out of form this season under new boss Karl Robinson. Easter has failed to find the back of the net in 14 league appearances for the Dons this term, but Swans manager Brendan Rodgers is prepared to give him a chance at a higher level. Swansea are currently flying high in the championship and sit third in the table after an excellent start to the campaign. But the Liberty Stadium outfit have built their success on a strong defence rather than a ruthless attack this term - scoring just 23 times in 18 games so far. Rodgers is keen to take Easter on loan before securing him on a permanent deal, as he bids to find a solution to their form in front of goal. The Welsh forward is an experienced Football League campaigner, having previously played for the likes of Hartlepool, Cambridge United, Boston United, Stockport County, Wycombe Wanderers and Plymouth Argyle.
