Striker feels Derby can push for promotion next season

Derby County striker Theo Robinson hopes to build on the progress made this season and help the club push for promotion next year. The Rams were in contention for the Championship play-offs at various stages of the campaign, but slipped into mid-table during the second half of the term. However, Robinson, who completed a permanent switch from Millwall last season following a successful loan period, believes that there are many positives to take from his first full campaign at Pride Park. "We've obviously improved from last season, as everyone can see from our league position, but it has also been a year where we've all gelled as a team," the 23-year-old told Sky Sports.

Great job

"The manager has done a great job bringing in players and making them form into a side. "We've come together well now, so if the club can keep everybody here and maybe even strengthen slightly over the summer then we can hopefully push on next season. "Considering I've been injured for two periods of the season it is just great to be amongst the goals. "It has been slightly stop-start for me, so to score 12 goals in 29 starts this season is definitely a plus, but if I can get a full season under my belt next year I know that I can get 20+ goals."
