Murray seals Carlisle return

Paul Murray has rejoined Carlisle United after returning from a period in Portugal.

Paul Murray has rejoined Carlisle United after returning from a period in Portugal.

The former Brunton Park hero left The Cumbrians for QPR back in 1996 and following a spell with Oldham went on to play for Beira Mar.

But his stay in Portugal was cut short by a knee injury, prompting him to head back to the Border City where manager Paul Simpson offered him use of the club's training facilities.

"Everyone at the club has helped me through the injury - I feel really good again," Murray told the club's official website.

"Hopefully I can continue to improve my fitness and I'll be able to repay Paul Simpson and everyone else here by getting back on the field and helping the club achieve something this season."
