CARLISLE UNITED have bid £100,000 for Northampton Town striker Steve Howard.
The 23-year-old former Hartlepool United player is The Cobblers record signing but has failed to settle down south and Town could now recoup most of the £125,000 they paid.
The Cumbrians had a bid of £75,000 rejected last month and have now tempted Kevin Wilson with a better offer, "Steve put in good performances over Christmas before getting injured and I feel he still has a lot to offer." said Wilson, "It`s good to have him around. I don`t want him to go but I felt it was only fair to put the offer to him."
