Garry Monk was delighted with Swansea's display as they battled through difficult conditions to defeat Aston Villa 1-0 at the Liberty Stadium.
The Swans had Gylfi Sigurdsson's early free-kick to thank for their hard-fought win, as they earned back-to-back Premier League victories.
I thought it was a war of attrition in those conditions sometimes, but both teams dug in trying to win the game and thankfully it was us.
The narrow success pushed Swansea up a place into seventh and Monk felt his side did 'very well' against an improving Villa side.
"I thought it was a good battle and we showed good defensive qualities once again," Monk told Sky Sports. "It was a good save from Fab (Lukasz Fabianski) at the end and we could have possibly got the second but we've got to be happy with a clean sheet and three points.
"He (Sigurdsson) scored a free-kick earlier in the season against Arsenal. He practices most days with those things, so it's by no fluke.
"He can find either side of the goal and it's good to see all that hard work he puts in on the training ground coming off in that instance.
"I thought it was a war of attrition in those conditions sometimes, but both teams dug in trying to win the game and thankfully it was us. We created enough chances to win the game.
"We've had a very good season so far. We've tried to work on a number of things to improve us as a squad and a way of working which we need the players to understand, which they are now. They all understand their responsibilities.
"We're improving all the time and these type of results are good for the mentality side of things and way of playing.
"Some of the performances this season have been top notch so it about continuing that and improving it."
