Defender enjoying loan spell but will speak to Spurs in summer

Steven Caulker has admitted his main aim next season is to play regular football and he would be happy to extend his time with Swansea. Caulker is contracted to Tottenham but joined the Swans on a season-long loan deal last summer and has been magnificent at the heart of their defence. This is the third season in a row that the 20-year-old has been sent out from White Hart Lane to gain experience elsewhere and he has previously made it clear that he hopes to one day make the breakthrough with Spurs. However, with Swansea performing so well in the top flight and competition for places likely to still be fierce at Tottenham, Caulker concedes he would have no problem staying in Wales.

Frightening

"I'm loving it here," said Caulker. "I've been here for nearly eight months and what I have learned in that time is frightening. "My aim for next season is simple. I just want to play football. Where that will be remains to be seen. "I will have to sit down in the summer and talk over my options with Tottenham. "However, if I had the chance to come back, I would be more than happy."
