Connor blow for Swans

Swansea City have lost the services of striker Paul Connor with an ankle injury.

Swansea City have lost the services of striker Paul Connor for up to a month with an ankle injury.

The former Middlesbrough, Stoke City and Rochdale hit-man was forced off in the early stages of Saturday's 2-2 draw at Hartlepool United with ankle ligament damage.

The 25-year-old faces up to four weeks on the sidelines with the leg problem - much to the disappointment of Swans boss Kenny Jackett.

"It was a blow losing Paul Connor," Jackett told the South Wales Evening Post.

"It looks like he could be out for a few weeks.

''He spent (Monday) morning training in the sea to try and work some of the rubbish away from his ankle.''

Jackett will hope fellow goalscorer Adebayo Akinfenwa is fit for Saturday's match against Nottingham Forest after the former Torquay United man continued his recovery from a hamstring injury.
