Rovers left-back pens one-year extension

Tranmere Rovers defender Zoumana Bakayogo has signed a new one-year contract with the club. The 23-year-old left-back joined Rovers last October and became an important part of the side which narrowly avoided relegation from League One last season. Bakayogo, formerly of Paris St Germain and Millwall, is pleased to extend his stay at Prenton Park and hopes to continue his good form next term. He told the club's official website: "I'm pleased to have signed a new contract. "I enjoyed my first season at Tranmere, like the area and my family is settled here. "I am looking forward to the new season starting." Bakayogo becomes the sixth player to sign new terms at Tramnere this summer, while manager Les Parry has also added Joss Labadie and Timothy Cathalina to his ranks. Parry added: "I'm delighted Zoom has decided to stay at the club. "He was one of our most consistent performers last season and he has a fantastic attitude in training and around the ground."
