Gary Taylor-Fletcher is seeking parity with Blackpool's other first-team players in order to sign a new contract.

Seasiders striker wants to be paid like other regulars

Blackpool striker Gary Taylor-Fletcher is seeking parity with the club's other first-team players in order to sign a new contract. The 30-year-old has rejected the club's offer, although the parties are not 'miles apart' from reaching an agreement. Taylor-Fletcher is out of contract next summer, however, the striker is happy at Bloomfield Road and wants to remain at the club. The striker's agent Matt Buck insists his client is not looking to upset the apple cart, just that he wants a salary in line with other regulars.

Parity

"Gary is just looking for parity with other senior players, and he feels the offer doesn't reflect that," Buck told the Blackpool Gazette. "I wouldn't say we were miles apart, but the fact he has rejected it and the talks have stopped does reflect they are a distance apart. "But it's not impossible to get it to where he wants it to be. Gary's (offer) is short of what he hoped for and had expected. "Some players have come in since he signed his previous deal, and others signed fresh contracts earlier in the summer, and he is just looking for parity with that. "He definitely wants to stay at the club. He likes the manager, he loves the club, and he has had some of his best footballing years over the last four years at Blackpool. "But at his age, obviously the next contract he signs will be very important."
