Coid inks new deal

Blackpool defender Danny Coid has inked a new two-year contract.

Blackpool have received a boost with the news that Danny Coid has inked a new two-year contract.

The 23-year-old defender has had a two-year option on his contract activated and his decision to remain at Bloomfield Road will delight boss Colin Hendry.

Coid has proven to be an integral player for Blackpool in the past few seasons and earlier in his career had reportedly attracted interest from Liverpool.

Pool assistant boss Ian Miller has expressed his delight that Coid has joined Keith Southern in committing his future to the League One outfit.

''It's excellent news, they are both in their early twenties with a great future ahead of them,'' Miller told the club's official website.

''They both have so much more to give to the football club.''
