Nottingham Forest manager Stuart Pearce hopes to make a loan signing this week.

The window for loan deals closes on Thursday, with clubs then unable to strengthen their squads until the transfer window opens again on January 1.

Forest halted a nine-game run without a Championship win on Saturday with a 3-0 victory at Wolves. However, the brilliant display in the Black Country, which saw goals from Britt Assombalonga, Matty Fryatt and Henri Lansbury, has not dampened Pearce's desire to add to his group of players.

"I made four phone calls with regard to players last week," Pearce told the Nottingham Post. "I did not want four players, I wanted one. I will continue to make those calls if I believe it will improve our squad.

"Thursday is the cut-off date. It would have been nice to have one of those players come in, but we will move on, we will keep looking and move our sights on to other targets."
