Nottingham Forest boss Stuart Pearce has admitted that he is planning to make Jack Hunt’s stay at the club permanent.

After failing to make a first-team appearance for parent club Crystal Palace since moving from Huddersfield Town just over a year ago, Hunt has impressed on-loan at Forest so far this season, appearing in every match.

As Pearce’s men continue to shine as they go in search of promotion to the Premier League, Hunt could be added to the ranks on a permanent basis even before the January transfer window opens, with an agreement thought to be in place between Palace and Hunt to see the deal completed.

"We are attempting to keep him here on a permanent basis," Pearce told the Nottingham Post.

"We are speaking to his representatives and we have had a conversation with Palace, prior to the window shutting.

"There is an opportunity for us to extend his stay on a permanent basis, even before the window opens again. That is something we are working on doing.

"He is very keen to stay here, he is enjoying his football and is clearly enjoying working with us at the club. Hopefully we can get something done."

Pearce also revealed Forest have an option to extend German midfielder Robert Tesche's stay at the City Ground, and may look at that situation in the next few months.

"There is an option in his contract, loaded in our favour, that would allow us to keep him here for another year. We are confident and comfortable with that – it is something we will look at after the Christmas period," said Pearce.

"He enjoys it here, Michael (Mancienne) has helped to make him more than comfortable here, as they are good friends, following their time together at Hamburg.

"But we have to remember that he is a player coming to a new club in a new country."
