Commons blow for Forest

Nottingham Forest midfielder Kris Commons is out for a further month.

Nottingham Forest's bid for promotion to the Championship has been handed a blow with news that key midfielder Kris Commons is out for a further month.

The talented wide man, who has been linked with a move in the January transfer window, has missed Forest's last two games with a hamstring injury.

It had been hoped the injury would not be too serious but Forest boss Colin Calderwood has now confirmed that Commons has torn the muscle and will now be out for another four to five weeks.

Commons will not just miss several crucial league matches, but also next month's eagerly anticipated FA Cup clash with Chelsea.

The former Stoke man has been linked with Blackburn in the past but Forest remain hopeful that he will soon sign a new deal at the City Ground.
