Nottingham Forest teenager James Perch has signed a new contract until 2007.

Nottingham Forest teenager James Perch has been rewarded for his progress with a new contract.

Perch has broken into the Championship club's first team plans this term and made his debut at the start of the season.

He has made 15 appearances for Forest and is tipped for a bright future, after impressing despite the club's troubles in the league.

The 19-year-old has now been handed a contract which will keep him at The City Ground until 2007.

The decision of the defender, who can also operate in midfield, has been well received by Forest, who are happy to hang on to Perch.

"We're delighted with the progress that James has made over the course of the season," chief executive Mark Arthur told the club's official website.

"James is a Nottinghamshire lad and wants to be part of what Gary Megson is looking to achieve at The City Ground and we're thrilled he has decided to pledge his future to the club."
