Yeovil manager Terry Skiverton has admitted he would like to keep Luke Freeman until the end of the season.
The Arsenal striker joined the Glovers on a six-month loan deal over the summer and has already made a good impression, scoring the winner against Leyton Orient on the opening day of the season.
He was forced off during the defeat to Bristol Rovers last weekend with a suspected leg break, but X-rays have since revealed that it was just badly bruised.
Freeman is due to return to his parent club in the New Year but Skiverton has told
skysports.com that he would like to extend his stay at Huish Park.
"Luke is a fantastic player and he is only a young boy, but he has featured in League One before when he was at Gillingham and I think he became their youngest-ever player when he broke through there," said Skiverton.
Potential
"He is a great lad and he has a lot of potential, but this is the first time that he has been given the chance to come out and show what he can do at first-team level.
"It gives him the opportunity to prove his ability and then he can go back to Arsenal and try to impress Arsene Wenger.
"It worked well with the boys we had on loan from Tottenham last year and this year we've got some other really good loans from different clubs that I was looking to bring in for a while.
"Obviously, whether Luke can stay on longer here is down to Arsene Wenger and Arsenal, but if there is a chance to extend his stay here then I would definitely like to do that."
