Bristol City striker John Akinde has returned to the club following his loan spell at Wycombe Wanderers.

Boss Johnson ends two month stint

Bristol City striker John Akinde has been recalled from his loan spell at League One strugglers Wycombe Wanderers. Akinde was in the second month of his stint at the Chairboys, but City boss Gary Johnson has decided to recall the 20-year-old. The former Ebbsfleet United man returns to Ashton Gate via the 24-hour clause, which enables clubs to bring back players at a day's notice. Johnson told the club's official website: "We've got a busy few months ahead, especially if there are any more postponements, and we need him here at the club right now." Akinde - who spent time at Adams Park last season - scored once in six outings for Gary Waddock's side.
