Bristol City have completed the signing of Grant Smith, after the midfielder saw his contract expire at Swindon.

The 25-year-old has penned a two-year deal with City after rejecting a one-year contract extension at The County Ground.

After scoring 11 League One goals this season, second only to top scorer Sam Parkin, Smith proved his worth to the Wiltshire side although has now opted to continue his career away from Andy King's outfit.

The versatile Scotsman will officially become a City player on July 1, and could be joined imminently by Swindon club-mate Matt Heywood.

The defender is expected to complete his move in the near future, with both players looking to join in a promotion push at Ashton Gate next season.

City boss Brian Tinnion saw his side miss out on the play-offs by one point this term, and has acted quickly to reshape his squad for next term with the signing of Smith.
