Tinnion wary of Lita interest

Bristol City boss Brian Tinnion expects other clubs will show interest in Leroy Lita.

Bristol City player-manager Brian Tinnion expects other clubs to make enquiries regarding in-form striker Leroy Lita.

The 19-year-old took his goals tally to 15 in all competitions this season with a brace in Saturday's 4-1 drubbing of League One strugglers Milton Keynes Dons.

The fleet-footed teenager has flourished this season under Tinnion, having been given the chance to lead the West Country club's front line and with much success.

Lita's exploits have pushed The Robins back up the table after a poor start to the campaign and Tinnion is only too aware the striker will attract the attention of other clubs.

"I've told the office staff I don't want to take any phone calls regarding Leroy," Tinnion told the club's official website. "They can go straight to the chairman (Steve Lansdown) as far as I am concerned.

"You don't want other clubs to show interest, but it's inevitable people will take notice of the number of goals he is scoring and how he is scoring them.

"You try stopping him playing at the moment. He's on fire and we are creating a lot of chances for him."

City are hopeful Lita can be fit for Tuesday's crucial League One clash with high-flyers Tranmere Rovers at Ashton Gate.
