Andy Dawson believes the never-say-die mentality at Hull City helped the club through their recent sticky patch.
The Tigers were wobbling badly at the start of October, with turmoil on and off the field severely hindering their cause.
A slow start to the season had left the club towards the foot of the Premier League table, piling pressure on boss Phil Brown.
However, a reversal in fortune has brought a four-game unbeaten run, with Dawson of the opinion that the Hull squad have revelled in the face of adversity.
"It's been fantastic over the past month in the circumstances. Confidence was low but it's amazing what a performance and a result can do," the experienced full-back told the
Hull Daily Mail.
"That's what we're seeing now and we're approaching games with a lot of confidence thinking that we can get results.
"You have your tough times in football but they make you stronger. We've had to believe in the tough times that we were still up to the challenge.
"We always knew that if we stuck together and worked hard on the training ground then we could turn it around."

Hull have clambered four points clear of the drop zone on the back of their recent fine form, but Dawson has warned there is still a lot of hard work to come before they can consider themselves safe.
"The turnaround has been magnificent really but it's hard to put your finger on one thing," he said.
"Jimmy Bullard is a big plus, he's an international footballer, and if a player of his quality comes back into your team, you're obviously going to improve.
"But saying that, everyone deserves credit for the way we've improved, from the top to the bottom.
"There's still a long way to go but we've shown in the last few weeks what we are capable of and we need to continue that.
"Football is based massively on confidence and although we know we've done nothing yet, it breeds confidence in the way we've been playing and the results have come from that."
