Scunthorpe United defender Nathan Stanton is out for the season with a knee injury.
Scunthorpe United right back Nathan Stanton has been ruled out for the rest of the campaign with a knee injury. The 23-year-old, whose contract expires at the season's end, sustained the injury in the New Year's Day home defeat to Darlington.
Arthroscopic surgery on the defender's knee has discovered that Stanton suffered a chondral fracture of the femur bone - in the area just to the side of his kneecap.
The operation took place before The Iron travelled to face Premiership leaders Chelsea in the FA Cup third round - a trip Stanton was unable to attend.
