Brentford manager Mark Warburton has stated that Toumani Diagouraga still has an important role to play at the club.
The Frenchman has made 17 appearances this season, with just one of those coming under since Warburton was named as manager in early December.
Warburton has recognised that Diagouraga is upset with his limited playing time, but insists that he can still be involved in their push for promotion from League One.
"Toumani's a very good player and an important member of the squad," Warburton was quoted as saying on GetWestLondon.co.uk.
"He came on at Peterborough and performed well when Dougie got injured, but he's obviously frustrated because he wants to be starting more games."
He added: "We've got 22 players champing at the bit and competition for places keeps everyone on their toes."
