Swindon winger could be an option to replace Moore at Gresty Road

Crewe Alexandra manager Steve Davis will consider a permanent move for Billy Bodin, but accepts the Swindon Town winger would command a fee. Bodin made nine appearances on loan at Crewe towards the end of last season after spending the first half of the campaign at Torquay United. The 20-year-old has been offered a new deal by Swindon, but the League Two champions would be entitled to compensation if he rejects the contract. Davis believes Bodin has the potential to be a success at Crewe and he could be a replacement for Byron Moore, who has yet to make a decision on the offer of a new two-year deal at Gresty Road.

Talent

"I had a conversation with Billy last week to clarify where he was with Swindon," Davis told the club's official website. "He has been offered a new two-year contract by them, so if they were prepared to let him go or he wants to go elsewhere then a fee would be involved. "Billy has a lot of potential and he will only improve the talent he has. I think if we could get him here then we would bring that out of him. "He is very much in the Crewe mould and could be the ideal replacement if we cannot come to an arrangement with Byron. He can play on both wings and has played in behind the front man as well."
