Sky Sports understands Stevenage manager Gary Smith wants to re-sign free agent Patrick Agyemang this summer.
The 30-year-old spent the second half of last season on-loan at Broadhall Way from Queens Park Rangers where he made 15 appearances.
Despite the fact he only managed to snare a solitary goal during his spell, Smith believes his experience of playing at a higher level would benefit the club.
Agyemang, a Ghana international, was among a cluster of players released by Mark Hughes last week, as the Hoops chief starts his preparations for next season.
Boro, however, are ready to offer him an immediate route back into the game and spearhead their assault on League One next season.
