Huddersfield looking for new boss after manager sacked

Sky Sports understands Lee Clark has left his role as manager of League One promotion contenders Huddersfield Town. The former Newcastle United midfielder is widely regarded as one of the most promising managers in the lower leagues. But he has been unable to guide Huddersfield to promotion, despite financial backing from owner Dean Hoyle. Now, after going three games without winning, the Terriers have dropped to fourth in the table, four points off Sheffield United - who beat them at the Galpharm on Tuesday. Clark had even been mentioned in respect to the current vacancies at Leeds United and Wolverhampton Wanderers. Clark, 39, who quit as first-team coach at Norwich to succeed Stan Ternent at the Galpharm Stadium, led Huddersfield to the League One play-off final in May and steered them to a new club record of 43 league games unbeaten this season as they maintained their challenge for a top-two finish.
